Bargain hunters and DIYers are big fans of Swedish retailer IKEA, and for good reason! IKEA has some great assembled furniture pieces, but the real gems are individual project pieces sold separately. The EKBY LERBERG bracket is great for creating custom shelving. This blogger took it a step further and used the bracket to create modern shelving. By simply turning the unit on its head, these wood shelves are both stylish and functional.

It’s rare to find a coffee table that checks all the boxes—ample storage, durability, style, and affordability. This home blogger found a way to have it all. She started with a LACK coffee table for its appealing price and two-tier storage, then added wood planks to the top for long-lasting style. She chose to stain the surface for a farmhouse look, but you can paint the wood any color you want.

Pantry shelving is a basic kitchen storage necessity, and IKEA’s inexpensive HYLLIS shelf unit provides a no-frills solution. One blogger, however, had a creative vision for the furniture piece. She took three shelving units and connected them with wood planks to form a farmhouse-style bookcase that stretched wall to wall. Each HYLLIS unit cost just $14.99, and the wood planks can be found at an affordable price, too. We can’t think of a better way to display our favorite decor and accents!

Who knew that the affordable LUROY slatted bed base could be repurposed as a storage unit? Luckily, this blogger did! The bed frame comes assembled, so all you have to do is hang it using large hooks. From there, decide its purpose and begin filling it with your items. S-hooks are great for holding baskets or kitchen utensils. Magazines or towels conveniently fold over the slats, and belts can easily drape over the edges.

We’re definitely trying this one at home. This IKEA-suggested project uses two MOSSLANDA picture ledges; one is hung normally and the second is flipped upside down and installed above. The result creates a tiered floating bedside table perfect for keeping reading glasses safe and displaying art on top. Illuminate the contents with a dim LED light strip placed inside.

Turn a shallow shadow box into compact entryway storage. The RIBBA frame from IKEA is an inexpensive product perfect for this project. This blogger removed the glass pane, added corkboard to the back, and installed hooks to the bottom. Hang the storage unit by your garage door or entryway to catch car keys and important bills when entering and leaving your home.
