Fall is approaching faster than you think!

Summer is still going strong, but the season of pumpkin spice and cozy sweaters is approaching faster than we think!

You’re not alone if you’re already starting to think about sourcing decorative pieces to utilize this fall. Fortunately, Better Home & Gardens has us covered sharing how to prepare our homes for autumn with these 4 gorgeous decor trends from IKEA’s new fall collection (with all items being less than $20!).

In the words of BHG, “the limited-edition line is called HÖSTKVÄLL, which means “autumn evening” in Swedish, and includes everything you need to embrace the coziness of autumn.”

As the sunlight fades sooner and the weather begins to cool down, it’s time to slowly start embracing darker hues. Black, charcoal grey, rusty red, and, of course, burnt orange are amongst the moody, saturated colours featured in IKEA’s autumn collection. As BHG explains, “the juxtaposition of classic fall colours with deep neutrals, as demonstrated by this patterned pillow cover ($7), adds an extra layer of coziness to your seasonal decor.”

BHG recommends incorporating elegant botanical designs for a modern take on the traditional pumpkin patterns. The HÖSTKVÄLL line includes kitchen accessories, pillow covers, wall art, and more demonstrating how stunning this new fall trend is. Although we are still a few weeks out from the new season, I recommend placing your orders sooner than later should you decide to purchase anything from the new fall collection. I recently designed my kitchen with IKEA and although the end result was great, the process was very time consuming as their stock can get backed up very quickly – even for small decorative items!

Artificial Dried Grasses

Dried grasses and flowers bring texture and an element of nature to fall decor, but the real varieties can leave a lot of debris behind. Personally, I like to mix and match and have a good combination between real and artificial pieces in my home. If you’d prefer the mess-free solution, choose faux versions that look just as beautiful as the real thing! IKEA’s artificial bouquet ($10) and artificial wreath ($15) both have a diverse variety of fall hues and natural textures that will last year after year.

Cozy Comforts

These decorative pieces can make a significant difference in how cozy and inviting your home feels during the fall. BHG suggests lining your table with a strand of copper-wire string lights ($18), introducing a festive mood with autumn-scented candles ($4), or snuggling up with a woven throw ($20).

I hope these 4 decor trends have given you some inspiration for the upcoming fall season! What do you love the most about fall? Let me know in the comments below!
