  1. Single-use coffee pods. These are so not green! Say ba-bye to Keurig and Nespresso.
  2. Manual kitchen scales. Make way for digital. Convenient and space saving.
  3. Garlic press. Messy and time consuming to clean. We expect to see less of these especially when you can buy minced garlic at the store.
  4. Manual timers move over and ask Siri to set your timer. Need two timers? Cook with a friend.
  5. Recipe book stands are not needed anymore. The majority of people are looking up recipes on the internet using their phones, tablets and laptops.
  6. Egg cookers. So easy to boil an egg.
  7. Stovetop Kettles are a noisy, squealing thing of the past. Electric kettles will even go to the correct temperature for your type of tea. We love our tea so we love this!
  8. Bread Makers. Take up valuable cupboard real estate and bread can be done easily in the oven.
  9. Plastic Straws. Single use plastic is set to be banned. There are some really nice stainless options out there.
  10. Single-use Slicers. Create drawer clutter and the task can be accomplished with a knife.
  11. Chunky Colander. There are great collapsible versions available to buy. Why take up unnecessary space?
  12. Vintage metal can openers. Star Frit has a great handheld options or you can go electric without hurting your hand or your budget.
  13. Cake-Pop Creators. The silicon molds take up room and you can accomplish this task with your hands.
  14. Egg Beaters. Hand mixers work way better!
  15. Paper Towels. Nooooooo! It’s true. As we search for more sustainable reusable items, paper towels could be come a thing of the past for cleaning up messes and spills.
  16. Plastic Cooking Utensils. Less popular due to safety as the utensils can melt or contain BPAs. People are opting for wood or metal or other BPA-free materials.
  17. Popcorn Maker. It is easy and economical to buy microwave or already popped. These gadgets take up too much room.
