Bring in the new year with delicious recipes

While New Years Eve this year will be a much more intimate affair – primarily with family members or close friends, that doesn’t mean you can’t still make it a night to remember. If you’re celebrating New Years Eve at home this year, here are a few recipes to try – I’m sure they won’t dissapoint!

Holiday Charcuterie

Nothing is more impressive than a beautiful spread of cheese and meats. To jazz things up a bit, you can arrange your board to resemble a Christmas tree, or any other holiday related look. Personally, I love adding an assortment of meats, cheese, grapes, jams, olives, cornichons, and crackers.

Cranberry Brie Pull Apart Bread

I recently discovered this recipe by Half Baked Harvest and I can not stress how delicious it is! Here’s how it works, you cut your bread in a cross hatch type of way, stuff it with butter, brie, pecans and cranberries – bake, pull apart and eat. Easy & delicious. Turmeric Chickpea Fritters

This 30 minute recipe is not only delicious, but any time I make these they are gone within minutes. They are tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, loaded with garlicky flavour, and infused with the wonder spice known as turmeric. I would suggest putting out a few mints beside these just in case your guests want to zap the garlic flavours out after. Grab the full recipe here!

Pizette

These are little discs of dough, cooked until golden and topped with anything from peppers and pesto to pork. Provided you have a stand mixer and half an hour to let the dough rise, preparing the base for Nigel Slater’s mini pizzas is easy. As The Guardian explains, “switching up his topping combinations is even easier – with a cooking time of under 10 minutes, you can even have your guests do it themselves once the dough is ready.” Click here for the full recipe!

And let’s not forget the drinks! I would highly recommend this tart cherry mulled wine (you can make a non-alcoholic version of this also). Click here for the recipe by Minimalist Baker!
