This New Years is looking much different than most, the thought of staying home for the countdown is definitely a change, but it’s also our new normal!

Make a scrapbook
2020 was a year for the books, and while this past year brought a slew of obstacles, for many of us this change in lifestyle encouraged us to discover new hobbies, DIY projects, baking escapades and many more interesting ventures. Making a scrapbook to remember some of the good times you had this year is a great way to reflect, look at your strength and resilience, and bring in the new year on a high note.
Make a Vision Board
This is a great activity to do with the family. Gather some magazines, news cut outs, glitter pens, and anything that makes you happy & put it on a poster. Hang the poster in a space that you often see in order to remind yourself of your goals.
Make a playlist, then DANCE!
Make a playlist of your favourite songs of the year to play during your household evening festivities. If you have Spotify, you can find a playlist of your most listened to songs in 2020!
Dress up
One of my favourite parts of New Year’s eve is getting dressed up and bringing in the new year with all of my loved ones. This year as it will just be my household, I thought about staying in cozy attire – but after a second thought, I’m back on the getting dressed up train (even if it is just for myself and my fiancé!) For me, this is a way of bringing in the New Year with a feeling of normalcy. You can even FaceTime or Zoom your friends and family for the countdown so it feels like you’re all in it together!
Make Dinner
I know by this point in the holiday season, you may be sick of fancy dinners, but bringing in the new year with good food is a must! Why not try something fun this year like homemade sushi?
