Getting Outdoors

With the weather in Vancouver rapidly heating up this week, it’s time to grab take out from your favourite local restaurant and head to a local park or beach to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air! Keep reading to find out where my go-to spots are.

Ray Perrault Park

Ray Perrault Park is one of my favourites! There’s a ton of space, and options for many outdoor activities here. I like to grab lunch from one of my favourite local restaurants (I highly recommend trying Buddha-Full’s new Inspired Spirits, they just released their Spring Buddha-Bowls & they are seriously delicious), then head to Ray Perrault to enjoy lunch outside. Once you’re doing eating, you can play a few rounds of Bocce! If you’re in need of a Bocce set, click here to order yours from Amazon.

The Shipyards District & Waterfront Park

The Shipyards is always a guaranteed gorgeous spot to stop by. There are so many outdoor options here, you can grab a picnic table and have lunch outside, hang around the grassy parts of Waterfront Park, or walk along the seawall and enjoy views of the Vancouver Harbour! If you get hungry, I would highly recommend stopping by JamJar for takeout – their unique Lebanese cuisine is always a hit. On the warmer Vancouver days, make sure to also stop by at Parlour Ice Cream for a refreshing treat.

Victoria Park

Grab a bench or bring a picnic blanket to soak it all in at Victoria Park! If you love mexican food, check out Tacomio just up the street where you can grab tacos or a burrito to-go. Then head over to Victoria Park where you can unwind and soak up the beautiful Vancouver weather.

Deep Cove/ Cates Park

Cates Park in Deep Cove is known as North Vancouver District’s largest seaside park, and offers 6 km of waterfront trails to explore!

I personally love this park for the views, and the abundance of grass area where you can have a peaceful picnic, throw around a football or frisbee, or just hang out in the sunshine.

If you get hungry, Scratch Kitchen is located nearby, where you can order a gourmet pizza or burger for take-out!

Ambleside Park

Ambleside Park in West Vancouver has both a beautiful grass area, as well as a great sandy beach with spectacular views of Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver. I recommend stopping by The Boat Shed for take-out. Their menu has a lot of fresh seafood options that won’t disappoint.

Stanley Park

Explore the picnic areas, beaches, forests, trails and lakes of Stanley Park. The possibilities are endless here when it comes to enjoying the beautiful weather ahead! You can grab snacks and refreshing drinks from Second Beach/Third Beach Concessions, or from any of the local restaurants around the area.

English Bay

If you want to feel as though you’re on vacation, I suggest stopping by English Bay this weekend. The palm trees and sandy beaches will have you fooled. Hook has some amazing fresh Seafood, and there are plenty of other amazing food options along Beach Avenue!

Harbour Green Park

This peaceful park is located just off the Seawall Water Walk. During the Summer months, there is a water park feature that makes it the perfect spot to cool off. Cardero’s is also just around the corner offering an absolutely mouth watering menu.

I hope you make the most of the beautiful weather heading our way this week, and don’t forget to support our lovely local businesses if you are able to!
