Long Weekend Activities

Victoria Day is just around the corner!

Have you been trying to think of what to do over the long weekend – especially since it’ll be sunny and warm out (finally)?! For some much needed inspiration, keep on reading.

I’m pleasantly surprised to see our weather forecast is reporting sunshine and about 20 degree weather all weekend long. What this means to me is getting outside and exploring with my loved ones – we’ve been waiting long enough! My first stop will be grabbing an iced coffee and making my way to Ray Perrault for a few rounds of bocce. If you don’t have your bocce set yet, I’d recommend making a pit stop at Canadian Tire, or even ordering from Amazon!

Another great idea for this weekend is enjoying a picnic at a local park. Some of my favourite picnic spots are Waterfront Park, Victoria Park, Mahon Park, and Moodyville Park. You can either skip cooking and order takeout from one of the fantastic local restaurants closest to your park of choice, or bring a picnic basket along. Some of my favourite restaurants to order from are Joey Shipyards, Cactus Club Cafe, Buddha-Full Provisions, and Browns Socialhouse.

Should you prefer to pack your own picnic goodies, my go-to items to make and bring along are pressed Italian sandwiches, an assortment of cheese options with crackers or a loaf of bread, an orzo salad, no-mayo potato salad, and a few refreshments of course. If the pressed Italian sandwich caught you eye – it is absolutely delicious, here’s the recipe!

Not feeling in the picnic mood? If you’re wanting to head out and catch up on some shopping instead, here are some big spots you can visit which are open all weekend long:

Pacific Centre
Oakridge Centre
Park Royal
Richmond Centre
Metrotown
Tsawwassen Mills
MacArthur Glen Vancouver Outlet
Coquitlam Centre

Regardless of what you do this weekend, I hope you enjoy some time to yourself and soak in the wonderful sunny weather we have coming our way!
