Are you ready to begin planning your activities for the month of November? With holiday light festivals and new art exhibits in full swing, this is looking like a jam packed month! Keep reading to find fun events to explore around town in the coming weeks.

Let’s start off with all of the exciting light festivals taking place! This is one of my favourite things about November, and with many of these festivals being cancelled last year, it makes this years festivities that much more exciting.

Let’s start off with the Canyon Lights. There’s no denying that Canyon Lights is a bucket-list activity for tourists and residents. I’ve actually never visited the Canyon Lights but after seeing the spectacular photos from previous years, I’ve already reserved a time-slot in my calendar to go check out the gorgeous event. As Capilano Suspension Bridge explains, “new this season – the world-famous bridge will be lit, end to end, with a multi-colour changing display, adding to the magic of crossing the canyon above the illuminated Capilano River. Journey into the rainforest and walk high above the forest floor between the eight tallest Christmas trees in the world on Treetops Adventure. The mesmerizing “Arc de Lumina” light tunnel will once again wrap its way along a portion of Cliffwalk.” If you’re ready to learn more Canyon Lights and reserve your tickets, click here!

Where: 3735 Capilano Road

VanDusen Festival of Lights

With well over a million lights and a wide variety of installations, the Festival of Lights at VanDusen is another must-see option! Guests can stroll along the lakeside, shimmering in the glow of northern lights, or wander into our lush Rose Garden which has been reawakened and illuminated for a spectacular winter replica through the artistry of the VanDusen Garden stewards. I have a feeling tickets will be flying off the shelf for this gorgeous experience, make sure to grab yours early.

Lumiere

Lumiere, a free event, will be back for its 6th season and has expanded to Granville Island and the Bentall Centre in addition to the Jim Deva Plaza and English Bay. It’s the perfect way to walk off a dinner in downtown Vancouver this month! Ready to preview Lumiere? Click here!

Polygon Gallery

Wait until later this November to enjoy two exhibitions at this admission by donation gallery in Lower Lonsdale. I’ll definitely be checking this one out after a relaxing dinner in the Lolo neighbourhood.

Vancouver Christmas Market

As Curiocity Vancouver explains, for a more family-friendly event, make sure to check out this beloved open-air market – returning after a hiatus last year! This will be a mix of shopping, entertainment, and food. P.S. I’d highly recommend grabbing a few Christmas ornaments from the market on your way out!

Imagine Picasso

Have you had a chance to visit the Van Gogh exhibit? If you weren’t able to make it, you should definitely visit Imagine Picasso – featuring a similar concept, showcasing an iconic artist in a unique and immersive fashion. I can’t wait to give this one a visit!
