Pumpkin Patch Season

It’s officially pumpkin patch season! With the cool fall air finally rolling in, it seems like the perfect time to head out for a day of adventure at the pumpkin patch.

Here are a few pumpkin patches I highly recommend visiting:

Loutet Farms

Head over to Loutet Farm Saturday, October 19th and choose a pumpkin from the patch, watch apple cider being pressed, and see a live musical performance by children’s musicians Gogo Bonkers! Bring the whole family for this fun harvest celebration. The festivities will be on from 10am – 2pm with the musical performance taking place at 11am.

Maan Farms

Maan Farms also has great offerings day and night. Whether it’s snapping the perfect family photo in the pumpkin patch, or indulging in Signature Fall Treats like their Double Pumpkin Spice Cream, they have everything you need to have a fantastic and festive day out. For the grown ups, there are also multiple spooky offerings at Maan Farms. The Scariest Corn Maze in Canada has returned with a ‘blood-soaked vengeance’. As Maan Farms explains, “through a field of screams, guests will run for their lives as the flesh eating pigs are unleashed to feast upon those who fall behind.” There will also be a hooded haunt – the first of its kind at the farm. This journey spooky through will see guests pushed to their limits, experiencing a unique multidimensional assault on the senses where darkness grabs you! This is a touch haunt! As Maan Farms further explains, “upon arrival, all guests must place a fabric hood on their heads before entering. As you journey through the fiery wrath of the underworld you may be touched, held back or separated from your group! Will you be brave enough to keep your hood on as you venture down into the fires of darkness?” As a Halloween lover, I am SOLD!

Greendale Acres

Home to the famous 12-acre Chilliwack corn maze, this farm also has a pumpkin patch and is worth the drive out. It’s well established this is the best corn maze in the Lower Mainland but there are also tons of activities and play areas to keep kids entertained all day long: rope courses, a giant jumping pillow, a hay bale maze, duck races, tractor rides, animals, and a lot more. The maze has been open since August and this year Greendale is partnered with Science World for a T-Rex-themed maze to correspond with the T-Rex exhibit – which I must say was absolutely incredible. Online tickets are $16 for weekdays and $18 for weekends and includes entry to everything.

Laity Pumpkin Patch

Laity now has two locations across the street from each other both with different attractions. As Allie Turner explains, “the North patch has hay wagon rides, farm animals, and an admittedly bizarre enchanted forest walk full of gnomes, fairies, and painted cutouts of fictional characters. There’s also a family-friendly corn maze, kids’ play areas, and of course a u-pick pumpkin patch. The south side patch is newer and has a western-style town made of pumpkins, a glow-in-the-dark garden, and a pumpkin cannon in addition to the kids and family games areas, corn maze, and pumpkin u-pick. Entry is $12 on weekends and $9 on weekdays.”

I hope these suggestions have gotten you in the mood for a visit to the pumpkin patch!
