Shipyards Live

With September already here, many of us are feeling the Fall weather approaching and the Summer slipping away. Before the weather gets too chilly however, you should take advantage of Shipyards Live, happening now through September 18th!

This eight-week Summer series features live music, food, activities, and vendors. The outdoor event kicked off July 30th and has been hosting day-long festivals every Friday and Saturday.

Personally, I feel as though the Summer has flown by, and I can’t believe we’re already in September! This weekend, I plan to head to the Shipyards Live to get that last glimpse of Summer outdoor fun.

As Daily Hive Vancouver explains, “visitors can expect food trucks and live music on each day of the festival, including a wide range of genres like R&B, soul, funk, country, pop, jazz, and Brazilian Samba. Additionally, there will be a number of artisans and artists with their work on display and available for purchase. City of North Vancouver Mayor Linda Buchanan adds that she’s excited about the event, noting that it’s more important than ever for the community to connect.”

I couldn’t agree more with Mayor Linda Buchanan, although these past few months have felt more normalized than last year, it still feels as though we are in a transitional stage in our community as we slowly start to integrate back together.

If you plan to attend this weekend, the event is free, and according to organizers is fully compliant with the health and safety guidelines of BC’s COVID-19 restart plan.

Make sure to dress a little warmer as the weather gets chilly quite early these days, and make note that the event only runs until 10pm.

Wishing you a great long weekend!
