Spring in North Vancouver

Flowers are blooming, the sunshine is coming out, and outdoor activities are about to be in full swing! Keep reading for inspiration on what you can do around North Vancouver in the coming days and weeks!

Spring is my favourite time of year, the transition from cold and gloomy to bright and uplifting is just unbeatable. Once the weather begins to heat up, my go-to activity is heading out to explore my favourite Spring / Summer hikes and trails.

This weekend I will be visiting Hyannis trail with my furry friend Milo, this is an easy route that takes under an hour to complete and is much nicer when the weather heats up a bit and we transition out of the heavy rainy weather. This is a very popular area for mountain biking, trail running, and walking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome and can be off-leash in some areas.

Another great Spring activity is heading to the Ray Perrault Bocce Court, this is one of my all time favourite activities.

I typically head over to this Bocce court once or twice a week, it’s such a great way to unwind, have some fun, and get out of the house – for those of you working from home you know what I mean!

If you’re planning an outing over the weekend, you could head over to the Bocce court, then make your way down to Lower Lonsdale for a walk on the Pier and dinner in the Shipyards! There’s nothing like soaking up the views in Lower Lonsdale on a sunny day, and there are an abundance of restaurants around for you to choose from. My go-to is Joey Shipyards, their patio is the perfect spot for a sunny day and their margaritas make the experience even better. I also highly recommend Nooke if you’re craving a meal that’s a bit more on the rich end, their pastas and pizzas are incredibly delicious, fresh, and filling.

Should you be looking for a little less lounging and a little more activity, give golfing a go – it’s the perfect weather for it!

Northlands Golf Course is a beautiful 18-hole mountainside course that I think you’ll love. There are four sets of tees on each hole to accommodate all skill levels and a mix of challenging holes. You can book your tee time online at 7 am for 5-day advanced bookings. If you book by phone, you’ll have to wait until noon. To ensure you secure your spot, it is recommended that you book your tee time online. Click here to book!
