What To Do In Raincouver

The Vancouver rain is back! If you’re wondering what there is to do around town during the rainy season ahead of us, this one’s for you.

I find September to be a strange transitional month. As we move from hot Summer sunshine into cooler Fall weather, it becomes less and less appealing to spend time outdoors (especially with the rain). The first thing I like to do when September hits is plan out things to do around town to keep myself busy and to prevent myself from staying home 24/7 – I also work from home so time outside is a necessity.

Dining Out

If you’re like me and want to dine out but prefer to stay local, I would recommend checking out the following North Vancouver restaurants for a delicious meal: Anatoli Souvlaki (their saganaki is unbeatable), Cactus Club Cafe (great for happy hour), Burgoo (ideal if you’re craving a cozy “at-home” style meal), & Joey Shipyards (the views here are outstanding).

Head Across Town

Ready to venture outside of North Vancouver? I suggest making a trip to Granville Island, touring the Vancouver Aquarium especially if you have little ones, or heading to Queen Elizabeth Theatre for a show! The DaVinci Immersive Experience is also still on, I plan to check this out next week. Click here for more information and to reserve your tickets for this immersive experience. Another great option is to head to West Vancouver to catch a movie at the VIP Cineplex! Personally, I haven’t been to the movies since pre-covid times so this is something I’m really looking forward to experiencing again. Click here for a list of movies currently playing.

Get Active

Once the rain hits and my daily walks get shortened, I like to ensure I’m still staying active by heading to yoga classes at YYoga or Oxygen Yoga. They both have tons of classes to take advantage of and YYoga specifically has multiple studios around town making it easy to attend classes close to home. If you’re looking for a different approach to fitness than yoga, I would highly recommend exploring Innovative Fitness North Vancouver for personal training sessions – their team is seriously amazing!

Let me know in the comments below if you’ll be trying my suggestions over the next few weeks. If you have any recommendations on other things to do around town to keep busy, I’d love to hear it!
