Great article in the North Shore News last week! In case you didn’t catch it, click here: North Shore Remains One of The Safest Places to Live

According to Stats Canada,  crime rates in North and West Vancouver are less than half the provincial average and continue to decrease. The provincial average was 8,872 incidents per 100,000 citizens. In 2012, North Van District witnessed 4,185 criminal incidents for every 100,000 people. West Vancouver experienced slightly less at 4,110 and the City of North Vancouver a higher rate of crime at 7,545 occurrences.

Overall Canada is experiencing falling crime rates and the severity of those crimes is down 3%. The trend continues on the North Shore. The City of North Vancouver is down 12% from last year. West Vancouver is down 1% over last year while North Van District is down 8%.

The local RCMP Community Office or your Block Watch Captain are great resources to check neighbourhood crime rates. If you would like the details of a particular neighbour, call me. I can help!
