Dining in our Out – Valentine’s Edition

Will you be celebrating Valentine’s Day this year? How about Galentines? Read below for some of my top suggestions for those of you wanting to dine out across North Vancouver, or order in for a meal with your partner, or for a virtual meal with your pals!

I think when it comes to Valentine’s Day, it’s important to keep in mind the significance of celebrating while also supporting our local businesses. After all, what better way to get into the spirit than by showing some community love?

Here are my top suggestions for those of you wanting to dine out OR stay in this weekend:

Arms Reach Bistro

Arms Reach Bistro is one of my favourite local restaurants. Not only can you reserve your table with them for Valentine’s, but you can also order their Valentine’s Day Meal Kit or their Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board!

Valentine’s Day Meal Kit

They prep it, you cook it! $185 per kit  (serves two)
Covert Farms “Amicitia” Merlot blend
Fresh Tulips
Field Green Salad
Wagyu Flat Iron Steaks with Chasseur Sauce
Belgium Chocolate Pate

Cactus Club Pemberton

This original Cactus Club location is guaranteed to provide you with delicious food and cocktails. They even have a special Valentine’s cocktail available exclusively from Thursday February 11th until Sunday February 14th. This charming cocktail (Raspberry Fox) includes gin, fresh lemon, sparkling wine and raspberries. Sounds like a pretty great way to start the night – no?

Browns Socialhouse (Lower Lonsdale, Upper Lonsdale, Lynn Valley)

With so many North Shore locations to choose from, Browns Socialhouse is always a great local spot for a refreshing cocktail and a delicious meal. My favourite thing to do is start with a Lime Mojito, then go for a bold bottle of red with dinner. Browns is also a great choice if you’re thinking of skipping the cooking portion of the night, but enjoying your meal at home. After all, delivery is always a great option!

Joey Shipyards

Soak in the Downtown Vancouver views by spending your Valentine’s dinner at Joey Shipyards, or dine at home with their amazing Valentine’s package.

Wine and dine your Valentine with a romantic three-course dinner for two along with sommelier-select wine pairings. Let the Joey’s team do all the cooking, prepping even the wine pairing for you so you! Joey’s will ensure that their ready-to-heat meals will taste just as good as it would be in the restaurant!

For $85, you can start your meal with the house salad and select some of Joey most-loved items as your entrees. Finish off with the salted caramel dessert jar for a little something sweet. Your Valentine’s day dinner will be ready in less than 30 minutes. Reheating instructions will be provided!

And let’s not forget about Dine Out!

Dine Out Vancouver is Canada’s largest food and drink festival. Every year, hundreds of restaurants participate in 17 days of dining and food-forward events and experiences but as with everything during the pandemic – this year looks a little different. The 2021 festival is spread over 31 days February 5 – March 7 giving you more time to support local restaurants and explore the eateries in our community. Click here to find the participating North Shore restaurants!

Whether you decided to dine out or order in, I hope these North Vancouver restaurant options were helpful in assisting you with organizing your Valentine’s / Galentine’s dinners! The most important thing to remember this year is that everyone needs a bit of love – don’t forget to reach out to your friend, family, and loved ones.

Wishing you all a safe weekend!
