Easter Activities

Easter is right around corner and if you’re looking for fun activities to do with your loved ones, you’ve come to the right place! Keep reading to get inspired.

Personally, my favourite Easter activity is to set up an Easter egg hunt for my niece and her friends. If you plan on setting up and Easter egg hunt make sure to stock up on an assortment of individually wrapped chocolate eggs, as well as other fun Easter chocolates or candies that will make their hunt that much more exciting! I like to organize an Easter egg hunt indoors and go the classic route of hiding everything in different areas of the house. If you’re feeling up to the challenge however, creating an Easter egg obstacle course could be an even more exciting and very memorable experience for your little ones. Here is a fantastic course outlined by Raising Dragons!

If you’d like to do something a bit more crafts focused, here are a few fun options to explore:

Earful treat bags

Place candy in the middle of a 10″ x 20″ piece of burlap fabric. Fold sides then tie fabric at the top with a ribbon. Cut a “V” shape from the center of the excess fabric to create bunny ears.

Cone eggs

To create tiny cones, start with brown eggs. Draw cone lines with a copper paint pen, decorate the top half with craft paint, and draw on faces with a paint pen. Use cotton and a red pom-pom to create the whipped cream topping. For 3D sprinkle eggs, all you need is puffy paint.

Pipe cleaner Easter eggs

Skip the mess this year by making these pipe cleaner Easter eggs. Attach one end of a pipe cleaner to the top center of the egg with a small dot of hot glue and let dry. Carefully coil the pipe cleaner around the egg, adding small dots of hot glue as you go. Snip off any excess pipe cleaner once you have reached the bottom of the egg and secure the end with one last dot of glue.

To make this easy Easter wreath, attach 17 pom-poms to a 12-inch craft ring with hot glue. Cut ears from white and pink felt and use glue to attach together, then to the back of the craft ring.

Have your craft and decorate with it, too. All you have to do is dye some eggs a few different shades of your favorite color and arrange them in a clear glass vase. For an added touch of spring, build a bouquet of faux flowers in matching colors and nestle the stems among the eggs.

Have a blast as a family and make a colourful Easter egg wreath! To make, you’ll need colourful tissue paper, a glue stick, hot glue, foam eggs in various sizes, faux greenery, and a wreath form. Cut 1⁄4-inch and 3/8-inch strips of tissue paper. Use the glue stick to adhere thinner strips to smaller eggs and thicker strips to larger eggs. Wrap tissue paper around egg lengthwise, then apply second strip horizontally. Continue attaching until the egg is completely covered. Arrange faux leaves and eggs around the wreath form and hot glue into place. Secure eggs to each other with hot glue where necessary. Once assembled, hot glue a few more greenery sprigs in between eggs for an extra plush look.

For those of you who don’t necessarily want to explore the craft route, I highly recommend baking Easter themed goodies with your loved ones. Here is a list of 35 popular Easter recipes by my all-time favourite, Half-Baked Harvest.
